Each tour departure time accommodates a limited number of people - up to 10 guests accompanied by 1-2 guides. Much like booking a seat on an airplane, we must know that you are planning to ride with us so that we can schedule guide staff to take you into the mountains! Reservations are always required; however, do know that same-day bookings are often available on tour times that have not yet completely sold out.

Saturday tours and tours during the holiday weeks fill up fast! We suggest booking at least 3 weeks in advance of your desired date to ensure a variety of tour departure times are available to choose from. Large groups will want to book as early as possible. Keep in mind that our cancellation policy — one of the kindest in our industry — allows you to change or cancel your reservation provided you call at least 48 hours before your scheduled tour time. While reservations are always required, last-minute bookings are often available on tour times that are not yet fully booked.
Thousand Peaks is proud to have one of the kindest cancellation policies in our industry! While many other tours offer no refund within 5 days before a scheduled tour date, we know that your plans may change. With this in mind, our cancellation policy is:
• Reservations canceled more than 48 hours in advance of the tour time will not be charged . • Reservations canceled less than 48 hours in advance of the tour time are charged 50%. Same Day cancellations and No-shows are charged 100%. • Rescheduling is permitted only with notice 24 or more hours in advance of the tour time.
48-hours prior to your scheduled tour time, we consider your reservation “final” so that we can make proper plans for your visit and often have to turn others away.
At this time, we schedule all of the staff that will be required to accommodate you. From Guides and Sales Staff to management team members, when you say, “Count me in!” we do all we can to ensure your visit is incredible. Because of the logistics involved, last minute cancellations, changes or refunds are not possible.
Our prices include your snowmobile, guide, helmet, gas and oil. (some places charge extra for gas/oil), and lunch (if included). Our prices do not include tax, gratuity, gear rental, machine upgrades or collision waiver.
You can purchase a collision protection waiver for $25. This gives you $1000 of collision coverage after a $450 deductible if you damage the snowmobile. It is optional but recommended.

One has to be 16 yrs old to drive a snowmobile in Utah. We recommend age 5 to safely be a passenger. To drive with a passenger one needs to be 18 yrs old.
December and January have average daily highs above freezing. February, March and April are balmy with highs in the mid to high forties.
Even if the temperature drops, one rarely gets cold on a snowmobile. You are protected from the wind, you have heated hand warmers and foot warmers as a driver and we make sure you are dressed properly. Neck gators or head socks are recommended when it is really cold.
There is a lot of off-trail riding in deep snow on the 1/2 day trip. It is very difficult to drive with a passenger in these conditions and you get stuck a lot. Besides, 4hrs on the back of a snowmobile is more than most people bargain for as a passenger.

We have a waiting area at the base lodge where you could wait for your party.
Participants should be in good health and prepared for an active tour. Guests from age 10 to 70+ have successfully completed our tours! If you can ride a bicyle you should be ok.
During your tour experience, you will be sitting, standing and shifting your weight from side to side. You may experience some bumps or deep snow. You will be expected to follow guides’ instructions. For safety reasons, guests who choose or are not able to steer and brake safely as instructed will be asked to discontinue the tour. Pregnant women are not allowed to participate.
On most of the trips, we can take 7 to 9 participants per tour/guide. If your party is fewer than eight or nine people, you will may likely be grouped with others who have booked the same tour. Groups larger than 10 to 12 people will often include two of our highly trained, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable tour guides.
There are flush restrooms at the base lodge. The mid-mountain lodge has primitive restrooms.
If you really decide it is not for you early on in the tour, one of the guides can take you back to the base lodge where you can wait for your party.
Many of the trips offer a lunch ie. 3hr (am) and 4hr. On the shorter trips, there are brief rest stops or lookout stops where you can snack on snacks/water you brought or that your purchased at the base lodge. There are pockets in the snowsuits. There is complimentary hot chocolate at the base and snacks to purchase.
Yes, we can handle groups of 50+ riding individually or 80+ if some ride double.
Yes, as long as both are 18yrs old. There are several places to trade off.
It depends how much you enjoyed your trip and your guide. Industry standard is 10%. A large portion of your guides' income comes from tips so of course if you had an amazing time a greater tip would be very appreciated.
With groups of 8 or more a 10% gratuity is typically added for the guide.
The Ranch is 35 min from Park City or 60 min from Salt Lake City.
Check-in is 45min prior to your trip so plan to leave accordingly.
You don't need a special vehicle like a 4 wheel-drive to get to Park City Peaks. It is a paved road all the way to the Ranch. If it snows, the roads are cleared regularly. If it does snow on the day of your trip just leave 15min early and take your time.

Dress as though you were going skiing/boarding or going to play in the snow. We supply the helmets.
If you don't have winter gear, Don't worry, we have lots of gear available for rent. Snowsuits $10 Boots $6 Goggles and gloves $5
Bring: a warm jacket, snow pants, gloves, goggles/sunglasses and snow boots (snowboard boots are OK, ski boots are Not ok). A neck gaiter or balaclava/headsock is a good idea in cold weather conditions. (no loose clothing like scarves)
We recommend bringing layers along so that you can adjust clothing accordingly once you have arrived at the Reception Center.

It is up to you. Most guest like to wear their own gear if they have it, for fit and comfort. However, we have all the gear necessary for you to participate if you choose. There are restrooms in which one can change.
Please leave valuables at home or lock them securely in your vehicle. Items in pockets (wallets, cell phones, keys, cameras) may bounce out if not zipped up. Small backpacks are allowed if riding single if you want to take larger items such as larger camera gear, personal snacks, extra clothing, etc. There are zippered pockets on our rental snow suits for small items such as keys, phones, small cameras but please check your pockets upon returning so as not to leave valuables in the suits. Please bring along any fast-acting medications (like an asthma inhaler or epi-pen) you may need while on the tour. Guides can ensure these items are secure.
Yes, cameras are definitely recommended. Some of helmets have GoPro mounts already attached.
We can and do. You can show up in street clothes and we can provide everything you need—Snowmobile, gear, guide and helmet! Bring sunglasses or goggles if you have them.
All helmets must be Department of Transportation (DOT) approved. Ski/board helmets are not DOT approved.
All guests are asked to arrive at least 45 minutes before the scheduled departure time to allow adequate time for check-in and to get geared up. Tours depart on time. No refunds will be issued for late arrivals. If you fail to meet your appointment, please understand that we still incur all of the same expenses, and we may have turned others away.
Our Reception Center and is located on a bench overlooking a river. Access to the property is by a groomed gravel drive easily accessed by all vehicle types (4-wheel-drive is NOT required). We have a large parking area on-site just in front of the Reception Center. Please park here and come inside to check in. Large vehicles (such as buses and RVs) are advised to call ahead (888.304.7669) so that we can best advise you on where to park while you are on the tour.
We are so close to Park City/Kimball Junction and Salt Lake City that most people find lodging in these locations.

No, the ranch is so huge people can easily get lost and/or very stuck. One really needs to know what they are doing to safely go unguided into the backcountry on snowmobiles. It isn't something to take lightly. Our guides get you to the best places, keep you safe, and make sure you have an amazing time. Worry free.

All the area snowmobilng for Park City is done on surrounding ranches. There is no public transportation to any of the ranches. If you don't have a vehicle, we can help arrange shuttle or taxi transportation to the Ranch from Park City. Call 8883047669 for details.
It snows a lot in the mountains. If it didn't, there would be no snowmobiling. We operate snow or shine, and guests regularly report that snowmobiling in the snow is a BLAST! It is part of a true winter experience. You are protected from the elements with windshields, helmets and warmers. And we can choose terrain that is more conducive to riding on snowy days.
As outlined in our cancellation policy, refunds are not issued for cancellations within 48 hours of the scheduled tour time. We continue to operate tours as long as weather is not considered threatening.
In the event of severe weather, such as blizzards and road closures, we may choose to cancel your tour. Advance notice may not be possible. Tours that we cancel because of severe weather are offered a rain check or a full refund. Should severe weather occur while you are on the tour, we may discontinue your tour. Discontinued tours are offered a full or partial refund that is based on your location on the tour at time of discontinuation.
Our snowmobiling tours are designed for participants in good health. Due to the nature of the tour and for safety reasons, we reserve the right to refuse participation to anyone.
ALL Participants Must:
• sign a Participant Agreement PRINT FORM HERE
• for YOUTH guests:
--- if under 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign the Participant Agreement AND you must be actively accompanied on the tour by your parent or another adult designated by your parent to serve as chaperone
• be in good health and prepared to participate in an ACTIVE tour
• be able to comfortably walk 50 yards
• should be able to ride a bike on a dirt path (shows good balance/strength)
You Cannot Participate if You:
• are pregnant
• have recent, recurring or existing injuries
• have a serious musculoskeletal disorder
• have epilepsy or a seizure disorder that does not permit you to drive
• have hemophilia or are currently taking high doses of a blood thinning medication or anticoagulant
• have a known health condition that requires immediate medical attention in the event of an emergency
• are under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, or prescription medications that may limit your abilities
Snowmobiles are powerful machines and are not toys. One must be 16 to drive alone and 18 to drive with a passenger on board.
Minimum age driving requirements are set by the State of Utah and exist for both safety and guest enjoyment reasons. Participants should be ready to produce proof of age upon request. Anyone found falsifying age information will not be allowed to participate and no refund will be provided.
Age 5 is recommended to be a passenger. Old enough to be able to safely hang on to the handles or strap on the seat behind the driver. Children cannot ride in front of the adult, for safety reasons.
